Title: Account Manager

Reporting to: Senior Account Manager

One year fixed-term contract

About The Role:

Our Account Managers are integral to the success of Albany. They take the lead on all aspects of client and programme management including: senior client liaison, project and budget management, strategy development, and technical delivery. To be successful as an account manager, you need to have the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and donors, understand complex operating environments, and be able to juggle more than one project at a time.

The ideal candidate will understand international development and the government donor landscape and have a keen interest in communications. Having significant programme management experience, and a track record in achieving business development KPIs are fundamental to this role. A degree in communications, politics, international relations or equivalent is desired but not essential. The successful candidate will be required to travel to conflict- affected countries, often on their own,

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the main point of contact and have line responsibility for all matters relating to your projects and programmes.
  • Lead cross functional teams, including local, in-country implementing partners and any international partners  in the delivery of projects – from inception to close out.
  • Handle all issues relating to budget, including budget management and hitting budget targets
  • Fully responsible for project profitability
  • Maintain accurate client and financial records, keeping track of any contract updates and renewals
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Albany’s capabilities to cross-sell based on donor need
  • Design and deliver client presentations about current projects in your portfolio
  • Provide Subject Matter expertise as appropriate
  • Ensure clients receive the services that are within their budget and are meeting their needs
  • Meet regularly with other members of the team to discuss progress and find new ways to improve programme process and procedures
  • Draft progress and other reports as appropriate for clients, and for possible circulation within the Accounts’ management structures
  • Assist in pitching for new business and developing proposals

 

Title: Senior Account Executive / Account Executive  

Reporting to: Senior Account Manager

One year fixed-term contract

About The Role:

Our Account Executives are the beating heart of the accounts team. They take the lead on the management of programme logistics, project finances, and donor reporting. To be successful as an account executive you need to have a great eye for detail, know your way around a spreadsheet, and be able to juggle more than one piece of work at a time.

The ideal candidate will understand international development and the government donor landscape and have a keen interest in communications. A degree in communications, politics, international relations or equivalent is desired but not essential.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the account manager in conducting research, planning, and due diligence to aid project delivery.
  • Manage workshop and event logistics in line with donor guidelines and protocols.
  • Provide practical administrative support to ongoing Albany projects and concepts.
  • Lead on financial management, record-keeping, and report writing on a live project.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, business development research, and mapping.
  • Support marketing efforts through facilitating coordination between the marketing and accounts team.
  • Support project delivery across Albany’s multiple clients, as well as representing Albany at functions and events as required.

Head of Business Development

Albany is looking to hire a London based Head of Business Development, with strong UK and US government networks,
strategic communications experience – preferably gained working internationally in challenging environments – and proven analytical and writing skills,
including proposal writing.

You will demonstrate outstanding creative thinking and can build and maintain strong professional relationships and networks
at the highest levels of international governments and within the multilateral donor community, but also at a
local level in fragile or conflict affected countries. You must be a self-starter with a flair for
innovative ideas, have a real sense of detail and be someone who always strives for excellence.

We offer an extremely fast-paced, dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment working to use communications to address
complex problems from Central and South Asia through the Middle East and Africa to the Western Balkans
and countries of the Former Soviet Union.
