Albany was contracted through PwC Kenya by the Directorate for Nairobi Metropolitan Development within the Ministry of Lands under a World Bank contract to develop a comprehensive multi-faceted Communications & Engagement Strategy to support the implementation of Nairobi’s ambitious infrastructure project. The large scale Nairobi Metropolitan Services Improvement Project (NaMSIP), once complete, will transform the city of Nairobi and the surrounding area into a vibrant and prosperous African hub. It will provide for its millions of citizens, businesses and tourists a high quality transport system, public services and amenities.
The five-year $300 million World Bank funded flagship project faced a number of implementation challenges, including low public awareness of the project, potential disruptions to locals and no institutional capacity to conduct communications activities. Albany developed both a Communication Strategy and Implementation Plan which addressed these challenges by inspiring and retaining broad popular support for NaMSIP. As part of this work Albany conducted a comprehensive stakeholder analysis, designed a project website, and trained project staff in communications.
