Where We Work

Albany Associates were contracted by the UNESCO Jordan office to conduct a capacity building project for Jordanian media professionals and stakeholders, such as reporters, editors, managers and owners - from print, electronic and online media outlets.

The project entitled “Enhancing Professional and Accurate Media Reporting on the Electoral Process” is similar to recent work conducted by Albany in Iraq also funded by UNESCO.

Whilst the part of the project Albany was involved in in Iraq was aimed at capacity building the regulatory bodies in the country, the Communications and Media Commission and the Independent High Electoral Commission, the Jordan project is focused on the media itself.

The work, conducted in Jordan, aimed at increasing their capacity in terms of reporting professionally, accurately and comprehensively throughout the electoral process. We are looking to empower and build capacities of media professionals for quality reporting during elections.

Read about the progress of the project as it happened, and visit the final result which was the Jordan Election Road Map Strategy web site and document.

Previously Albany provided comprehensive advice on Jordan's legal framework regarding the media, with particular attention to broadcast and other electronic media, as well as workshops on strategic planning advice and consultancy for Jordan's Telecommunications Regulatory Commission to strengthen the institutional capacity of the organisation.
